Both Sandals Grenada and St. Lucia are some of our favorite Sandals resorts and are highly rated. Each features a beautiful beach, opulent and unique suites, and plenty to do on a gorgeous, lush island. However, Sandals St. Lucia also gives you access to two other resorts, as well as to golf.

Sandals Grenada vs. St. Lucia Overview

Sandals Grenada is one of the top-rated Sandals resorts. Nestled against green hills on the exclusive Pink Gin Beach, it’s very scenic and romantic. There are 5 pools, 2 whirlpools, 6 bars, and 10 restaurants.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian is also one of the top-rated Sandals resorts. It is the largest of the three Sandals locations in St. Lucia, and you also get access to all the amenities at the other two resorts for a total of 11 pools, 27 restaurants, and 21 bars. Something that truly sets it apart is that it has the amazing overwater bungalows. You can also golf here.

Sandals Grenada vs. St. Lucia Location

Sandals Grenada is located on the island of Grenada on Pink Gin Beach, just 5 minutes from the airport so you can get your vacation started right away.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian is set along the calm waters of Rodney Bay on Pigeon Island, which is home to St. Lucia’s top national park. It is about 120 minutes from Hewanorra International Airport and less than 15 minutes from Vigie Airport.

As at every Sandals, airport transfers are complimentary.

Sandals Grenada vs. St. Lucia Beaches

The beach at Sandals Grenada is amazing. A 2-mile stretch of exclusive Pink Gin Beach, it offers pristine white sand, vivid turquoise water, and a protected area perfect for swimming and snorkeling. There are also plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas here.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian has a gorgeous one-mile white-sand beach on a private peninsula along the protected waters of Rodney Bay, making it possible to go swimming or enjoy watersports at any time.

Both resorts have a wide range of complimentary watersports available at the beach.

Sandals Grenada vs. St. Lucia Rooms and Suites

Sandals Grenada has some of the most amazing suites available at Sandals resorts: the Skypool Suites, which feature private elevated infinity-edge plunge pools. They also have a living room, spacious bedroom, dining table, and bathroom with clawfoot tub, as well as an oversized furnished balcony with a Tranquility Soaking Tub™ for two. It comes with butler service.

Another unique option here is the Rondovals, which are round thatched-roof villas with vaulted ceilings and a private enclosed outdoor space with a patio, plunge pool, and waterfall whirlpool. There are plenty of other choices among the 250 rooms and suites at Sandals Grenada, including swim-up rooms.

Not to be outdone, Sandals Grande St. Lucian also features some pretty spectacular suites. It is one of three Sandals resorts with the incredible overwater bungalows, and it also has Rondovals and swim-up suites.

The 9 Over-the-Water Bungalows here have hardwood floors with glass floor panels; vaulted ceilings; and a private extended sun deck with water access, a bistro set, loungers, a double hammock hanging over the water, and an outdoor Tranquility Soaking Tub™ for two!

Other amazing accommodations at Sandals Grande St. Lucian are Beachfront Grande Rondoval Butler Suites with private patios featuring plunge pools, a jacuzzi, an outdoor shower, and a hammock, located just steps away from the sand; Caribbean Beachfront One Bedroom Butler Suites with private balconies and Tranquility Soaking Tubs; and Lover’s Lagoon Swim-Up Club Level rooms with easy access to a lagoon pool from private patios. There are also Caribbean Beachview Walk-out Rooms.

All the butler suites at both resorts come with the 24-hour services of a private butler, while all club-level rooms and suites give you access to dedicated concierge service, a 24-hour private lounge, and special activities.

Sandals Grenada vs. St. Lucia Activities and Amenities

Both Sandals Grenada and St. Lucia have plenty of complimentary unlimited activities including water and land sports. Even scuba diving is included; certified divers can dive up to twice a day at either resort. Both resorts also have state-of-the-art fitness centers and luxurious spas.

Sandals Grenada has 5 pools and a variety of complimentary watersports including snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and Hobie Cat sailing. For an extra fee you can try SNUBA, which combines scuba diving and snorkeling. Land activities include day and night tennis, beach volleyball, bocce ball, shuffleboard, table tennis, and pool.

There are also all sorts of fun things to do on the island. When we were there, we took a tour that include the charming capital city of St. George, a waterfall, a spice nursery, and a trek into the jungle to see the mona monkey. Other excursions include tours to learn about the local spice industry, tropical garden tours, river tubing, hiking, waterfall experiences, deep sea fishing, Jeep tours, historic tours, cultural tours, bar hopping, sunset cruises, and more.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian has 5 pools and 4 whirlpools. The beach has calm waters perfect for swimming and watersports, and you can go on snorkeling trips directly from the onsite pier. Complimentary watersports here also include waterskiing, Hobie Cat sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing, tubing, and wakeboarding.

You can enjoy unlimited land sports such as beach volleyball, day and night tennis, pool tables, bocce ball, and a variety of exercise classes such as yoga, Zumba, and aqua fitness.

Sandals St. Lucia is one of the best Sandals resorts for golf, as it’s near an 18-hole championship course. There’s also a 9-hole course at Sandals Regency La Toc, but it’s currently being renovated. You get complimentary greens fees and transfers to both courses.

You can also choose to add on area excursions during your vacation. St. Lucia has tons of things to see including the Piton mountains, Soufriere Volcano, and Toraille waterfall. Take a mud bath at the sulfur springs or tour St. Lucia Distillers and sample the rum.

There are 6 bars and 10 restaurants at Sandals Grenada to choose from, including French haute cuisine and a world-class steakhouse as well as Mediterranean, fresh seafood, Asian, sushi, Caribbean, Italian, and Parisian-style pastries and crepes.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian has 6 bars and 12 restaurants which feature gourmet cuisine, fresh seafood, local flavors, Asian, Indian, sushi, Italian, French crepes and pastries, English pub fare, pizza, Caribbean, and other international dishes.

You also get access to all the restaurants and bars at the other two Sandals resorts on St. Lucia, for a total of 27 restaurants and 21 bars.

At both Sandals Grenada and St. Lucia, you can also get room service or request private dining options like a candlelight dinner on the beach (for an extra fee). If you are in a club level room, you can get room service between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.; butler suites get 24/7 room service.

As at all Sandals resorts, your all-inclusive rate covers unlimited meals and snacks plus all beverages including premium liquors and Robert Mondavi wines.

Sandals Grenada vs. St. Lucia Cost

Sandals Grande St. Lucian is slightly more affordable than Sandals Grenada. Rates at Sandals Grande St. Lucian currently start at $305 per person per night, while rates at Sandals Grenada start at $354 per person per night.

Stays at all Sandals resorts include all meals and snacks at all restaurants; unlimited non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages including unlimited premium liquors and unlimited Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks wines; a minibar in your room that is refreshed daily, stocked with juice, water, soft drinks, wine and beer; a coffee maker with Jamaican Blue Mountain Blend coffee; unlimited nonmotorized watersports such as snorkeling, paddleboarding, and kayaking, including equipment and professional instruction; scuba diving (including equipment) for certified divers; unlimited land sports including golf and tennis (at most resorts), beach volleyball, etc.; a fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment; daily and nightly entertainment; WiFi; roundtrip airport transfers; private airport arrival lounges at some locations; and roundtrip shuttles to other resorts and access to their facilities (at some locations).

You won’t have to worry about tips and taxes because they are all included as well. Plus, stay a minimum of 7 nights in a club or butler room and get a free wedding. The Sweetheart Package, which usually costs $1000, is good for up to 10 people and also gives you a 15% discount at the spa as well as credits toward photography and videography packages. Free ceremonies are limited to Monday through Thursday, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
